... es ist mal wieder etws später und ich denke über so fundamentale Dinge wie Betriebssysteme, Windowmanager und Programmiersprachen nach.
Derzeit habe ich ja - aus zeitlichen Gründen konnte ich meine Platte bisher nicht mit einem weiteren System vollstopfen - nur Windows Vista auf meinem Rechner. Und nachdem das nun schon eine weile genutzt wird will man ja auch nicht wieder von diesen "modernen" Oberflächen weg - besonders wenn man, wie ich, schon lange unter Linux einen Windowmanager wie E17 nutzte. Vor kurzem konnte ich aber nun mal das Vergnügen haben, KDE4 endlich mal zu testen - und war echt angetan. Viele tolle Ideen, die man schon von Apple kennt, sind verbessert implementiert. Das Dashboard ist sogar echt nutzbar, nicht wie bei Windows Vista's Sidebar und Apple's Dashboard.
Da ich ja nun auch von Slackware (und das viel mir sehr schwer) auf Ubuntu wechselte, überlege ich nun sehr stark, ob ich nicht auch von meinem Lieblings Windowmanager-Gespann Enlightenment-GNOME auf KDE4 wechseln soll - schneller und leichter als KDE3 ist es ja auf jeden Fall.
Ws haltet ihr davon? Welche Vorteile und welche nachteile seht ihr im direkten Vergleich von KDE4 zu Enlightenment-GNOME?

Since e17 is released as a public alpha, i'm working on the german translation. Between the different releases of e17 i had to restart the translation. A few weeks ago morlenxus and i began the translation again. But he has no time to work more on it, so i must translate it alone to the end. This evening is the time to publish the new language file to the CVS.
Some months ago i've registered the ebuntu.org domain as i think, after Ubuntu with GNOME, Kubuntu with KDE, Xubuntu with Xfce and the ELive CD, we, the Enlightenment team, could start the work on a Enlightenment based Ubuntu distribution.
Today i'va got a email from a french e team member, that they have a Alpha version finished of a Enlightenment based Ubuntu distribution.
This evening i'll chat with that french men talking about the ebuntu.org domain and the project webpage. We will see what comes and what we can do.
I have updated my e17 installer script. Current version is now 0.7.1.
So, i think i can publish this first preview version with shelf support. It's not finished, but im working on ...
